Four Organization Pillars
Outreach: We connect, educate, and mobilize.
IJAC believes education is liberation. Through intentional outreach, we commit to educating immigrant communities about their rights, available resources, and the power of collective action. We actively engage community members and allies in learning spaces that foster advocacy, leadership development, and civic engagement – within and beyond educational spaces. Our outreach efforts are grounded in trust-building, cultural relevance, and intergenerational learning, ensuring that knowledge is not only shared, but owned and led by the community.
Retain: We build lasting connections and strengthen movement resilience.
IJAC recognizes that sustaining a powerful movement requires long-term commitment, strategic alliances, and care. We cultivate an ecosystem of trust, healing, and solidarity among community members, organizers, and allies. By centering the voices and leadership of those directly impacted by immigration systems, we ensure that our work remains grounded in lived experience. We counter harmful narratives through truth-telling and community storytelling that affirms the humanity, dignity, and contributions of all immigrants. To maintain momentum, we commit to celebrating wins, learning from challenges, and adapting to evolving needs, while holding each other accountable to our shared vision.
Train: We equip our communities with the skills and tools to lead.
Training is at the heart of our liberation. IJAC provides accessible, community-informed education that builds the skills and knowledge necessary for effective organizing, advocacy, and self-determination.
Our training programs include:
Know Your Rights/Educational
Organizing and Campaign Strategy/Advocacy
Leadership and Public Speaking
Mental Health & Wellness
Academic and Career Development
We prioritize multilingual, culturally responsive learning spaces where every member can access the tools they need to thrive.
Empower: We believe our communities are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.
IJAC exists to amplify the power that already lives within immigrant communities. Through collective action, leadership cultivation, and grassroots advocacy, we work to ensure immigrants are not only represented — but leading — in shaping their futures. We champion a model of community self-determination rooted in mutual support, intersectional justice, and radical love. Empowerment for us means building infrastructure for communities to organize, mobilize, and transform systems — from the ground up.
